License question [relation to CCR]

Mar 20, 2011 at 8:56 PM

Hello !

I am really very interested to use this project. But I would need
it really in production environment. According to the MS CCR license,
a end-user is only allowed to make tests with this runtime!

What is the implication on this library?

Could someone please shed some light onto this?

Thanks a lot!

Hi mabra,

I'm glad to hear that you are interested in using the AppSpace! Concerning the CCR: With version R3, it is available for free, meaning you can use it as much as you want without any additional costs (as long as you don't work around technical limitations e.g. by reverse engineering and altering the CCR code) . The license file may read a bit complicated about what you are really allowed to do. This page may clear things up a bit:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/robotics/bb521232

It says there: "The new version of RDS eliminates the distinction between commercial and non-commercial licenses. The package is available at no cost to all users. The CCR and DSS Runtime can be distributed free of charge."

Hope I could help you!
